The SPICE Framework emerged from research related to people, organisations and decision-making. A whole ecosystem of tools has developed around the SPICE Framework that can be applied face-to-face or in the digital environment of the ‘metaverse’.
In the very first piece of work that led to the SPICE Framework, Innovation People was tasked with reducing staff turnover in a business by 40% in six months. This was in a business that had an overall staff turnover of 108% annually.
I founded Innovation People back in May 2008 as a research-based consultancy holding to the vision it will seek to empower businesses to flourish by connecting people to ongoing performance improvement and development.
Innovation People began life asking questions about people and about innovation. This included researching the nature of strategic thinking. In this article we summarise some of our thinking, summarising two forms of strategy related to two metaphors: planning and navigation.
